This is a quick and easy spread to make. Syrian families have this spread ready in their fridge specially in cold weather. It is an excellent source of energy and is rich in nutrients such as iron, calcium and potassium. To make this spread you need three ingredients: molasses, sesame paste and nuts. It only takes a few minutes to prepare it and you enjoy it with flat bread, or saltine crackers.

Ingredients
1 cup molasses (grape, date or carob)
1/2 cup sesame paste
1 tablespoon pine nuts
Directions
- Place the molasses in a bowl.
- Add the sesame paste (tahini) and stir until well combined.
- Sprinkle some pine nuts on top. Feel free to use any other kind of nuts.
Notes
- Feel free to increase or decrease the amount of sesame paste that you add to the molasses.
- You can keep the spread at room temperature of in the refrigerator. Enjoy this spread with some pita bread or crackers.
- You can either use dates molasses or grapes molasses or carob molasses.
